The tournament starts at 9:00 am on March 17 and ends at 6:00pm on March 18, 2012
The two main venues are Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West for U11 to U18 teams and Riverway Sports Fields for U06 to U10 teams
This annual tournament attracts many teams from throughout the Province each year.
The tournament is open to boys and girls teams from U6 to U12 and for boys teams only from U13 to U18.
Competition levels: - U6 to U8 - house level teams only - boys; girls; co-ed teams
- U9 to U10 - house level and developmental level teams - boys; girls; co-ed teams
- U11 - Tier 1 (Developmental / Selects Level) and Tier 2 (House Level) divisions for boys and for girls are available
- U12 - Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions for boys and for girls are available
- U13 to U18 - Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions for boys only teams
Tournament Format
The typical Tournament format is round robin play in pools of four equally matched teams. Most teams will play either two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday or vice versa.
However, there are also 5-team pools. Each team would play 4 games, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
This year, we have 6 team pools as well. In these pools, the 6 teams are divided into two sub pools of three teams each. Each sub pool plays round robin. After the round robin play, the 1st place team in each sub pool will play each other for the Group Champion's plaque and Champions Medals. The runner-up will receive a Runner Up plaque. The 2nd place team in each sub pool will play each other. And the 3rd place team in each sub pool will play each other.
Each age group coordinator will determine the makeup of each 4, 5, 6-team pools by reviewing the teams win-lost record; their placement in league play; and the team's requested competition level.
All teams should have copies of the team roster available should the referee request it. No player ID cards are required for this tournament.
